1.Normal suitable humidity

How is your digital inkjet printing going? Today I will share you some tips that you should better pay attention to when you use the Roland large format digital printer for your sublimation or eco-solvent printing and then make your printing effect getting more and more perfect.

1. Cleaning liquid
  Make sure you always have a bottle of the appropriate cleaning solution for the ink in your printer. Inspect your print heads once a week and clean them with a foam swab soaked in cleaning solution. You can see ink buildup disappear and your heads return to pristine condition. Please remember never to use a swab to rub the bottoms of your print heads, only the sides where the ink has built up. Let the wipers clean the surface of the head.

2.Ink

  Use original Roland inks! Just like he Epson digital sublimation printer. The Roland also has its original ink.We know that in this tough economy the temptation is strong to save money wherever possible. Ink is not the place to economize. Regardless of what the manufacturers tell you, 3rd party inks will change the color output of your prints, which will force you to find or create new profiles. Issues like density, dry times and potential damage to sensitive components of your printer (print heads cost approx. €2400 to replace - travel and labor included) will ultimately affect your ability to create consistent prints and may end up being much more expensive than the savings you realize by purchasing these inks over the original inks.



3.Wipers
Wipers are the single greatest asset you have for clean print heads. Too often so-called print head failures or print quality issues are the result of dirty wipers. Our advice is to change your wipers early and often.

4.Schedule maintenance
Regular inspection and cleaning of your Roland printer will ensure consistent high-level print quality.Clean the heads, wipers, and cap tops (the small assembly that supports the head when it is not active). Wipe any excess ink off the platen and make sure there is nothing impeding the path of the media. We recommend you to maintain your Roland printer once a week. It only takes 10 minutes.During the schedule maintenance your Roland digital printer may have a longer service life. And the printing effect of your printer may same as the new.

5.Calibrate
Each media you use on your printer has unique properties. For example, a 2mm cast vinyl has a different thickness than a 500g block-out banner. The distance from the surface of the head to the surface of the media is different as is the way each media feeds through the printer. So, it is critical that you recalibrate your printer for each type of media you use. The two basic calibrations are feed calibration (called “Calibration” on your Roland printer) and Bidirectional Calibration. Feed calibration adjusts the distance the media travels through the printer after each print pass. Bidirectional calibration ensures that the print heads are placing dots in the exact same spot in both travel directions of the head carriage (each “pass”).

  Even after you replaced the wiper, yet not performed [WIPER REPLACE], the error “Replace a WIPER” is still showing. This is because the internal unit counts the number of wiping, and performing the [WIPER REPLACE] resets the counted number.
Note
  In fact, you can perform printing if not replacing the wiper. But it may ruin your print heads and we recommend earlier replacement for better maintenance.
  Wipers are disposable; and they can be purchased just as you order inks. And we can provide you with the high quality accessories and inks

[！Waste Tank]
Answer
  This means the ink in the waste ink tank reached a certain amount. * The amount of ink gathered in the waste ink tank is measured. Immediately dispose of the ink and reset the count.
1.Remove the waste ink tank, dispose of the waste ink (e.g., to a separate container), then remount it.
2.Execute the “Ink Tank Exchange” menu.

  The block of the print head can be divided into two situations: the slight block and the frequent block. Then I will introduce how to face the two problems in the next article.

Slight Block of The UV Flatbed Digital Print Head
  When you find your print heads are blocked slightly, please press the “PAUSE” button with no hesitation, and then use the clean the nozzles with the clean out fluid. Why many people complain about that their print heads usually get blocked? One of the most important reason is that they didn’t take any actions when they find the print heads get blocked slightly at the beginning. Besides, take actions immediately can also help you find more reasons why your print heads are getting blocked.






The Frequent Block of The Print Head
  a. Press the “PAUSE” button, then press the “PURGE”
  b. Keep the power of the device on, and unplug the liquid sensor signal line from the control panel of the print head.
  c. Take the ink supply tube (from the vice ink tank) from the print heads, and then use a glass syringe to extract the special cleaning liquid to clean the  nozzle. Method: Each time with 40ml cleaning fluid, every 10 minutes, a total of 3~4 times.
  d. Contact each part again, and restart the printing tasks.

What should we do if the methods above are not useful?
  If you find that all the ways are not effective, then what you should do is take the print head out of the printed, and soak it in the clean out fluid for 1 day, and then use the special cleaning machine to clean it. The other emerging category in wide format inkjet technology is the UV-curable flatbed inkjet printer, where the drying mechanism for the ink is completely different then that used in solvent inkjet printing. When ultra-violet light hits curable liquid ink, it transforms it from a liquid to a solid on the chosen substrate. UV-curable printers offer many of the same features as solvent inkjet printers offer with less expensive inks than aqueous inkjet inks and outdoor image durability without lamination. Since many are configured as flatbed systems, users can print directly on materials such as wood, metal, ceramic, and glass, opening a host of new possibilities in terms of applications and revenue streams. UV-curable has to improve its reliability and performance with flexible substrates if it’s going to overtake solvent printing in the roll-to-roll 
application.

Then the maintain of the UV Flatbed Printer

1. the primeval maintenance
    In order to make the print head get into the best condition when formal work, you'd better try to print images as more as possible before 1 ~ 2 days. And the colors should be C-M-Y-K.

2. Daily maintenance
   Daily maintenance for the print heads is very important. If you do not want your print head get blocked, you must know how to clean it after one day's work.
  A. Turn off the power
  B. Clean the sponge and soak it with clean out fluid
  C. Move the head to the right side, and make sure the soaked sponge and the print head are knit together tightly. Remember, keep this condition all over the night.
